ONE BENNETT PARK

451 E. GRAND AVEnue - CHICAGO, IL 60611

Architecture and Design by Robert A.M. Stern Architects Landscape and Design by Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates.

One Bennett Park will grace Chicago’s captivating skyline taking its place among the city’s most luxurious residential towers. Envisioned by world-renowned architect Robert A.M. Stern, this elegant residential tower is situated in Chicago’s Streeterville neighborhood at the lakefront. Steps from Michigan Avenue, the residences will have spectacular view vistas across Lake Michigan, the Chicago River and the city skyline.

In addition to the tower, One Bennett Park will also include an inspiring new 1.7 acre park designed by Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates, the landscape architect best-known for Brooklyn Bridge Park in New York City and Maggie Daley Park and The 606 in Chicago.

The park, named Bennett Park, will be a distinctive new open space that welcomes and accommodates the daily activity of urban life. The new landscape will provide experiential range through topography, plants, and a variety of uses. Rolling topography will make a lawn bowl for casual use and gatherings; children’s active play will be accommodated in a play bowl that will also be comfortable for adults; a hilltop grove will provide prospect and shade; and dog owners will have the convenience of an accessible dog run at the park’s edge.

Following Chicago’s city motto of Urbs in Horto, Latin for “City in a Garden,” the Bennett Park will have diverse plantings that offer interest in every season. The Park will continue the tradition established in nearby open space, such as Navy Pier and Millennium Park, of being inviting and accessible to surrounding neighbors while also contributing to the city’s overall livability.

neighborhood

THE HIDDEN EAST END - Parks, beaches, theaters, boutiques, a revitalized waterfront. If you thought you knew Chicago’s neighborhoods like the back of your hand, take a closer look at Streeterville and its surrounds, tucked between Michigan Avenue and Lake Michigan to the west and east, and Oak Street and major parks to the north and south. Its renaissance is shifting the city’s center of gravity closer to the lakefront.
  • Rare is the restaurant that’s attached to a major fashion brand and hits all the right notes. RL does. This see-and-be-seen spot is perfect for taking a break while shopping on Michigan Avenue (order the lobster roll).
  • Performing everything from The Tempest and Othello along with best-ofs and modern classics, CST entertains some 30,000 audience members in Chicago with high production values and serious talent.
  • Brunch plans are laid out well in advance, and snagging a spot at Kanela earns you a gold star. Of the four locations, the one on Lake Shore Drive stands out.
  • In a match made in mixology heaven, prodigal son and restaurant wunderkind Danny Meyer has partnered with the boys behind NYC's Dead Rabbit to create a whiskey bar.
  • State Street’s comedy spot has welcomed A-list comedians like Jim Gaffigan, and huge pop stars such as Janet Jackson.
  • The free center on Michigan Avenue between Randolph and Washington plays host to the Chicago Architecture Biennial, where global architects take over the entire space from October to January every other year.
  • The shop's namesake owner Ikram Goldman has quite the eye: her taste in fashion has shaped First Lady Michelle Obama's wardrobe and given millions of women the green light to show their biceps.
  • Chicago architect Edward H. Bennett designed the fountain—one of the largest in the world—and French artist Marcel Loyau created the sculptural elements. When it’s in action, it goes off every 20 minutes.
  • With its ice-skating ribbon and climbing walls, Maggie Daley Park is being touted as the city’s winter camp. There’s also plenty to do in warmer months at this lakefront retreat—with such venues as a playhouse, a field garden, tennis courts and picnic groves, to name a few.
  • This beloved track runs 18 miles along the coast of Lake Michigan, connecting beaches, picnic spots, parks and varied neighborhoods.
  • Follow this stunning flower shop on Instagram (@floralstudiochicago) to get a sense of the world of beauty its florists create for thank-yous and holidays.
  • The pedestrian walkway that runs from Michigan Avenue to Lake Street has loads to offer outdoor enthusiasts.
  • Native son Jimmy Bannos Jr.'s top-rated restaurant is still going strong after three years, especially for small plates and after-work cocktails.
  • Entertaining at home? Whole Foods has pretty much anything a host would want to offer their guests, and there are loads of other destination food halls from which to bring home the bacon.
  • Mario Batali’s ode to all things Italian and edible fortunately has an outpost that takes up a whole city block. You can dine in or carry out; just be sure not to miss the creamy Taleggio—it is beyond words.
  • Name a city with beaches in the heart of downtown—we dare you. In Streeterville, there are at least two fabulous lake beaches with two very different takes on the concept.
